Stewardship Season
As you know even the Church lives in the world and has to pay the bills and live in the city like anyone else. In order to do ministry simply by being present is a ministry in itself, not to mention the food bank, seminars and fellowship. In a couple of weeks, members and friends of First Baptist Church will receive a request to pledge an amount that will be known only to the treasurer. Pledges are very helpful when we try to underwrite our budget. We receive income from the parking lot and building use but need your participation in our ministry together. Stewardship is not just monetary resources; many of you are very gracious with your time and volunteerism. Think about this, pray about it and we will be sending out requests in a couple of weeks.
Hanging of the Greens
No, that is not a family in the church! We will be slowly putting up Christmas decorations the closer we come to Advent. We’re inviting folks to volunteer some time the Saturday morning of Thanksgiving weekend. The outside Christmas lights are up. Inside, we’ll be decorating the Christmas tree, sanctuary and parlor. Sound System
With the new sound system by Sound Elite, four listening devices will be available for those who have difficulty hearing. You can call Linda at the church office or check with the sound person (Jim Paige) to register for one.
