First Baptist Church instituted Friends Night Out groups in 2009 with great success. These groups of about 10 people have grown to a number of different groups, with great enthusiasm. Originally intended as a fellowship group, the leadership team is exploring expanding these fellowship groups into something more broadly termed “First Baptist Care Teams,” which will be led by a group leader or leaders and will serve part of the spiritual care of the FBCD members each Care Team will serve. Groups will meet regularly for both fellowship and spiritual care and will be organized to help motivate each other and engage newcomers.
