Becky Davis, Moderator and Music Director
Becky Davis has served in many roles since joining the church in 1983. She spent many years as the choir director and now is the music director as well as a member of the praise team. She also recently signed on as the Moderator and heads the church’s leadership team. Growing up in Danville, Ill., Becky loved music and singing, so when it was time for college she headed to Murray State University in Kentucky, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in music education with a double major in voice and piano. After graduating, she decided against teaching, and embarked on a varied career path and currently works for the Colorado Department of Health and Public Environment as an intake coordinator. But music has remained a driving force in her life and her musical talents have enhanced First Baptist’s music program for many years. She also performs with the Aurora Singers and with her husband John Davis, a singer and song writer. Becky’s daughter, Hannah, is currently teaching in the Republic of Georgia.

Shirley Johnson, Organist and Office Manager
Shirley’s musical career began when she was 7 years old and started piano lessons, which she continued until her early twenties. While in high school the organist at her church needed a substitute and gave her organ lessons so she could fill in for vacations. Over the past 45 years, Shirley has played the organ for many different churches and denominations. In 1990 her husband, Ken, signed on as the music minister at FBC, and Shirley was the substitute organist until Dee Netzel retired and she became the organist. She left in 2000 to become the organist at Corona Presbyterian Church. In 2007, Shirley returned to FBC to again be our organist. She is happy to be a part of the music ministry FBC, as the church holds many fond memories for her. She also recently agreed to serve as the church's office manager.
